Michael Lew, BSc

Scientific Associate

Research statement

I see great potential in expanding our understanding of biology using modern technologies and thereby enriching research. That's why I decided at the end of my studies in medical biology to do my master's thesis in the field of bioinformatics and to combine my technical-analytical aptitude with my well-founded biological knowledge.
As a bioinformatician, I am now at the interface between biology and computer science and assist my colleagues in evaluating the enormous amounts of data generated by modern analysis methods.
So far, my work has focused on the analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data to create an RDEB cell atlas.

Personal interests

I prefer to spend my free time in nature, be it hiking or mountain biking in the local mountains, or on voyages of discovery in distant countries.
