Research interest

Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a rare skin disease in which aggressive squamous cell carcinomas occur frequently with currently only very limited treatment options. In our research program, we strive to find new or already known drug candidates for use against cancer for our patients. The possibility of “repurposing” already known drugs are also being investigated in order to ensure the shortest possible development times and to be able to access already known safety profiles. In the course of our research, we will also gain further insights into the processes and processes of tumor cells, which will provide the basis for new therapeutic methods.
